Water Handout Operative (Adhoc Basis)

Job Description

We are looking for Water Handout Operatives. Are you caring, compassionate and like to help in times of crisis?

This role is quite unique, as a Water Handout Operative your core tasks will include; to hand out bottles of water (and possibly other items) on behalf of water utilities companies when geographic areas have been affected by contaminated fluids, power failure, droughts, floods. This is a standby role meaning you could be called to work with a minimum of 12 hours’ notice and we may also require you for 3 days per location. It is vital to be flexible. You must have you own Safety Steel Toe Cap Boots.

Hours and Salary:  

8am- 6pm (Weekdays) £13.00 p/h (Non Driver).

8am-6pm (Weekdays) £14.00 p/h (Driver).                              

Before 8am and after 6pm (Weekdays) or any hours worked over Weekends or Bank Holidays     £18.00 p/h (Non Driver).

Before 8am and after 6pm (Weekdays) or any hours worked over Weekends or Bank Holidays £19.00 p/h (Driver). Mileage will be paid after the first 10 miles (each way).

Location:  Bournemouth, Devon. United Kingdom.

Day to Day Duties:

• Lifting required of around 12 bottles.
• Loading bottles into customer’s boots / vehicles.
• Customer service.
• Dealing with enquiries.
• Outdoor work in all weathers.
• Carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate.
• Be willing to provide colleagues with the information they need to complete their tasks.

Training:

• Participate in training where required.

Health, Safety & Environment:

• Carry out all duties safely and in accordance with the Health & Safety Policy, Employee Handbook, procedures, training and instruction.
• To be safety conscious and report any safety hazards to the HSE representative.
